Most people are in a ponzi scheme and they don’t even know it.
They get caught up in the marketing that they tend to forget about ethics and value that is required in a legitimate business.
“This program will change your life”
“Use this system so that you can spend more time with your family”
There are so many things that will grab your attention these days and they are usually ran by someone operating something illegal.
First off, what in the world is a ponzi scheme?
Our friends over at Wikipedia have a very elaborate explanation of what it is but the one part that I wanted to share was this.
“Operators of Ponzi schemes can be either individuals or corporations, and grab the attention of new investors by offering short-term returns that are either abnormally high or unusually consistent. Companies that engage in Ponzi schemes focus all of their energy into attracting new clients to make investments. Ponzi schemes rely on a constant flow of new investments to continue to provide returns to older investors. When this flow runs out, the scheme falls apart.”
With high ticket ponzi schemes, they try to make things seem legit as they try to keep up with what’s “legit” but at the end of the day, they will be nothing more than what they really are.
A ponzi scheme.
Now I don’t care how much mud or makeup you put on these scams, I want to show you what to look out for as a lot of you are involved but are completely brainwashed by their tactics that you might just be clueless.
Follow these tips and you should be just fine.
1. Does the Program You are in Require Recruiting in Order to Make Money?
The biggest sign that you are in some type of ponzi scheme is always the fact that you HAVE to recruit others in order for you to make any type of money.
These schemes usually have you saying things like “hey man, checkout this new program I just found out that is making me X amount of dollars.
Every legitimate business should have some type of exchange.
Here’s my money, here’s your product.
Not join me by giving me your money and welcome to the club.
This also leads me into my next point, which is what you can use to avoid any scam out there.
2. There is No Product
Every legitimate business should have a product.
Now when it comes to high ticket ponzi schemes, they like to use digital products and education as their product, which is a big bunch of baloney.
Not to say that you can’t sell training on how to make money online but when this training is designed to sell the same product you just bought, that’s when it becomes a problem.
Unlike your typical network marketing gigs that have some type of product, these scams have nothing but a “system” that you will be using to promote the same “system” you just bought.
This also leads me into the type of product they are selling, which I’m sure you will find to be worthless.
3. Use of the Word “System”
Making money online is not done with some type of system, however, that is what these gurus are putting together these days.
By system, they mean marketing training that will get you to want to join them and then you can go out there and give this same system to others so that they can join too.
A lot of these high ticket product owners are trying their hardest to stay under the radar and they are changing things from system to program or education, which is really irritating.
Then of course they will charge you an arm and a leg for the sole purpose of making you that crazy amount of money they spoke of.
4. Promotes Making a lot of Money
Don’t you want a yacht like mine?
Don’t you want the freedom and the flexibility of working anywhere in the world?
That my friend is exactly what you will get from a ponzi scheme.
Rather than saying “this program will teach you how to make money online”, they go with “this system will make you $1,000 by tomorrow”
A lot of these schemes use this thing called attraction marketing as their product and
5. Requires a Huge Investment
If the whole “high ticket” part of the program didn’t get you, then spending an arm and a leg should be your next clue.
What these types of schemes get you thinking is that, if you are going to spend a lot of money on something then it must work.
Take that thought out of your head as that is not how things work online.
I make my living online thanks to a program called the Wealthy Affiliate and that $49/month fee has been the best and least investment I have ever made.
With a high ticket program, they simply tack on a huge price for a bunch of videos on why you need to pay for the up-sells associated with that scheme.
What’s even crazier is that they get you thinking that $3,000 will be the last of it but then they hit you with another product that costs $10,000.
Are you kidding me?!
Now the craziest part about all this nonsense is that people WILL actually pay for this!
Because they hit you with more marketing on how you will lose out on commissions if you don’t purchase that so called product yourself and I don’t think any of us want to do that.
You will then pay for that nonsense and then no one will follow simply because they don’t have that type of money lying around.
6. The Program You Are With Promotes Irresponsible Behavior
When some members (or all) who don’t have the money to invest into any of the high ticket products, these scammers will straight up tell you to get a loan, borrow money from someone, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they even told you to rob a bank.
They have you feeling like you will make that money back, so of course you will go to that one person who will lend you the money or max out that credit card.
Please don’t do any of the craziness mentioned as these idiots are only telling you to do something like this because that is THE ONLY way they will make money.
Do not get a loan and do not borrow any money from anyone.
7. It Just Feels Wrong
When you get started with a high ticket scam, everything will feel perfect and that’s just how it is.
For those smart and not greedy people, you will notice that what you are doing to make money is just not right.
Telling someone you found this program that will make you money just so you can have them deposit it right into your bank account is not the best feeling for anyone who has a conscience but for scammers, it really doesn’t matter.
If you have put money into one of these schemes and you have a gut feeling that something just isn’t right, that’s because it really isn’t.
I was apart of one of these scams in my early days of looking for a legitimate way to make money online and trust me, it was not a good feeling knowing that the same person I talked into joining has a 99% chance that they will not make back any of the money they invested.
You will know if you are apart of a ponzi scheme so be a better person and don’t do things just so that you can make money.
They knew what they were creating to begin with but have now changed their programs into something completely different.
Just remember that if you are required to share a system with someone else in order to make money, then you, my friend are very much involved with a ponzi scheme.
If you can’t grasp something like affiliate marketing, drop shipping, or anything e-commerce related, then you might want to try a lotions and potions gig like Melaleuca or something because there is no other way.
Other than that, there is no other legitimate way to make money online no matter what these gurus try to tell you.
This program doesn’t work, try this instead.
That’s what you’ll hear from someone promoting a ponzi scheme so please try and be scam smart.
And remember the good old rule…
If it seems too good to be true, then it most likely is.
