In my Melaleuca review, I am going to show you what makes this multilevel marketing company a scam (or not), and I will also show you how this might not be the program for you.
Although there may be many mixed reviews of Melaleuca, I would like to give you my personal and unbiased opinion of “The Wellness Company”, being a former member of the company.
Melaleuca has been around for a while, but there are reasons why you shouldn’t look for companies like this to make a living working from home, especially with the fact that you might just be a little too late.
What’s funny is I haven’t been with Melaleuca for about 3 years and I actually got some products in the mail about two weeks ago. I really don’t know how that happened but I got some organic goodies from the Melaleuca company.
What is Melaleuca?
Melaleuca is a “wellness company” that provides consumers with everything organic. You know what happens when you try and go green right? You spend more! That is how it is with Melaleuca and why not too many people stay with the company.
Along with these organic products, you also have the “opportunity” to do some multilevel marketing while purchasing products. Just like any multilevel/network marketing company, Melaleuca comes with a compensation plan which I will be getting into a little later.
Melaleuca in a nutshell – Multilevel marketing company which specializes in organic products which most of you professional online marketers know as the “lotions and potions” business.
What Melaleuca has Done for me and my Family
I first came across Melaleuca back in 2010 when the mother of my children gave me a call while I was at work and said, “I need your credit card.” Of course she wasn’t going to get it that easily. I asked what it was for and she mentioned this lotion that everyone is talking about that would help with my son’s skin.
My son had eczema and Melaleuca’s lotion called Renew was the talk of town but she said she needed two hundred bucks! You gotta be kidding me! She mentioned something about a business and I told her she didn’t know what she was doing so I’ll be right there.
I got there and lone behold, the application for another MLM opportunity. Being the entrepreneur I am I had to sign up since I wanted this magical lotion. I personally don’t like the recruiting game that comes with MLM because everyone knows that it is the money that we’re after and not no lotion.
To make a long story short, I got the lotion and joined the business but none of them worked. I was backed up with products and a couple of dents on the bank account every month. Something had to change so of course I ended up quitting. Here’s more of my review and you will see if Melaleuca is right for you.
The Melaleuca Products
Melaleuca focuses on the health and beauty industry and focuses on all organic products. They offer products from household cleaners to skin care they have it all. You are probably a little more familiar with a company called Amway and yes Melaleuca is very similar to them.
I have tried every product that Melaleuca has to offer. From their vitality pack of vitamins to the glass cleaner that I am overstocked with, I have tried em all. I can say that some of the products are pretty decent. I personally did like the Renew lotion and the dental floss, LOL.
The Melapower detergent wasn’t something I was impressed with. If you have been to any of the Melaleuca workshops their Melapower is one of the products they really promote because you use very little compared to your regular laundry detergent. I like fresh smelling clothes my friend and that little cap doesn’t do it for me.
I had a bad reaction to one of the pills from their vitality pack and I never took it after that. Of course I still used the Renew lotion and body wash but other than that, the products started to back up and it backed up fast.
Here are other products you can expect with Melaleuca
- Vitamins and supplements
- Energy drinks
- Weight-loss supplements
- Bath products
- Household cleaners
- Oral care
- And more
Pros & Cons of Melaleuca
- Eco friendly products
- Great product selection
- Decent comp plan
- Been around for almost 20 years
- Promote wellness and health
- Requires network marketing skills
If you want to make it with MLM you need to get some network marketing training or you simply won’t make it.
Although I am a Melaleuca member (because I do like the products) I will always recommend a program called the Wealthy Affiliate for anyone looking for a business opportunity.
Not into the whole recruiting thing and there’s nothing more legit than selling other people’s products without having to ask family and friends to join you.
The Melaleuca Comp Plan
Melaleuca has a decent compensation plan but now a days they have to compete with a lot of different MLM companies that offer better commissions. I don’t know about you but I’m tired of the sign up 3 and get 3 then their 3 of their 3 nonsense that comes with the multilevel marketing business.
Melaleuca is based on a point system and you get rewarded when your downlines (people signed up under you) purchase their own products. Same thing applies when you purchase something. Your up-line (person who signed you up) gets a percentage when you make a purchase which is required every month to get a piece of the pie.
Just like any multilevel marketer out there, one of the biggest thing when joining a work at home business like Melaleuca, you want to know how much it costs. With Melaleuca’s point system you need to purchase products that total 35 points which always added up to $80 +. This my friend started to kick my butt and I eventually stopped paying my monthly membership because I didn’t sign up enough members to at least break even.
The cost if you want to stay active with Melaleuca – $80 minimum
Training & Support
The community with Melaleuca is just about the same as any other MLM business. You will get support from your up-line if you need any help with mostly anything but there is always support online and through their toll free number as well.
I had the worst up-line ever and this has happened to me a couple of times. Their main focus is on making money and that is not how you run an MLM business or any business for that matter.
She left me hanging and I would’ve done anything she told me to do but she wasn’t there for me which is the biggest reason why I quit.
If you’re going to sit on your behind then there is no business that is going to work for you my friend. Multilevel marketing is one of the hardest businesses to run, but it can make you work from home and make you a lot of money.
If you’re looking to get more leads for your business, try this program and you will see how anyone can really succeed in absolutely ANY business they decide to jump into.
Is Melaleuca a Scam?
Melaleuca is not a scam my friend and I would still recommend it over any regular job no matter what.
If you believe in something then stick to it, but please stop jumping from one business to the other or you will not get anywhere.
Hard work and determination is going to be necessary if you plan to make it with any MLM company or any business. I have tried too many companies thinking that it was the products.
I was wrong all this time.
I hope you found my Melaleuca review to be helpful to you and if you feel I missed something please let me know by leaving a comment below.
What I Really Think
MLM is an amazing thing but getting those leads and getting people to join your business can be a task and a half.
If you are struggling with your business or if you’re looking to finally succeed with your own business, I recommend you try a program called My Lead System Pro.
Now if you want to start a real business that doesn’t require recruiting, you definitely need to try the Wealthy Affiliate.
Although I am now a member with Melaleuca, I make my living through their business model, which I think everyone should be doing as you are doing nothing more than selling other people’s products online and making a commission.
Read more here and see how everything is done and you’ll see why I think they are a business model that can help anyone.
Other than that, thanks for reading my Melaleuca review and hopefully you can make a better decision on your own.
Whether you join or not, I think you’ll like the products.
